Pubs in Ireland are set to get the go ahead to reopen the middle of this month (September).
The reopening will coincide with the release of the Governments new Covid 19 recovery plan.
Thousands of pubs have been shut since he middle of March, despite the rest of Europe allowing their pubs to reopen earlier.
Pubs have suffered setbacks twice already when expecting to be allowed to reopen only to be denied again.
Many pubs have already been forced to close their doors as a result of the closures.
The news will be welcome not just for the thousands of pub owners but also for many people, for whom the local pub is their only social outlet and meeting place.
